What is Chuaks/Chaks/Cuaks Means in Indonesia?

"Chuaks/chaks/cuaks" is a word often being used by duo Standup comedian Tretan Muslim and Coki Pardede in early 2019 in their video content on the youtube channel "Majelis Lucu Indonesia (MLI)". This word is generally used when they're having a joke that is too dangerous (dark/dirty jokes), dad jokes, lame jokes, cringe jokes, or things out of context, and they're having difficulty to respond to the jokes, so they just say the word "chuaks" with a slightly upturned head gesture. The point is, the word "chuaks" was being used to respond a jokes in a funny way.

Tretan Muslim explains the origin of the words chuaks in a video podcast in 8th July 2020 on the "Pandji Pragiwaksono" YouTube channel titled "TRETAN MUSLIM CHUAAAKKKHH", at minutes 32:40 Tretan clarify,

"if you watch some cartoons, there will be some moment of silence and then a tumbleweed sound appears, sounds like 'ssshhuuuiiiissshhh' (long hushing+whisling voice). So if there is a jokes that aren't funny, we will use that sound (word) 'shuuuuuuuiiisssshhh', and if the jokes are too lame/cringe then our response will be 'chuaaakkkkkhssss', and if we are too lazy to respond to the jokes then the word that comes out is just 'cuaks/chaks'". 

Tretan Muslim and Coki Pardede was known in using a funny word sound to respond a jokes, not only "chuaks", they're also using another absurd word sound, like; "WalaWiuwwiuw", "klakklukklikkluk", "haaaaaaaaa", and "hiya hiya hiya". 

In the early year of 2023,  the world "chuaks" went viral again because some TikTok content creators are using this word in a cringe way, and a lot of other content creators using that content pattern to do it in a funny way too.

What is Tobrut Means in Indonesia?
