5 Am School In Indonesia

In Indonesia, specifically in Kupang province East Nusa Tenggara, there's a new regulation for high school students that changes the time of the school to start at 5 am on 28th February 2023. The governor and the leader of the Regional Ministry of Education and Culture explain the purpose of it was to improve the quality of the education system. 

This phenomenon went viral and caused so many controversies, mostly among Indonesian netizens, especially the Kupang students and locals refusing the regulation and questioning the research background of it. Many people compare it with the regulation of more advanced states that start the school at 7-8 am. Netizens also mention these generations' insecurities, sleep quality, depression, insomnia, and the other effect of the teachers, also social such as parenting, economic, and cultural. 

Now, the National Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology was trying to intensively coordinate with the regional leaders and Ministry to reconsider the regulation.

What is Tobrut Means in Indonesia?

In slang terms, Tobrut was an anagram of 'Toket Brutal', wh ich  in English 'toket' could be translated as 'tits/boobs/breast' and 'brutal' to describe it's size as something massive. Basically "anjay, anjir, and anjim" was a derivate word from "anjing" itself, which in English means "dog". in Indonesia, it was a common swear word that comes from a big urban area.
