Mamat, Abdur, and Arie Illegal Gimmick in Indonesia

Mamat Alkatiri, Abdur Arsyad, and dan Arie Kriting were famous Indonesian Melanesian stand-up comedians. In 2021-2023 they're famously known for their story to accused, pranking, and fighting each other. 

Their way of joking had a serious impact on their life, some stories were widely spread on social media such as; Mamat being accused of doing gun smuggling, being gay, and heavy drinker which caused his 4 years of serious relationship to fail. Abdur was accused of owning a weed farm until he was pranked to be arrested. And Arie Kritng was rumored using black magic to charm his wife that causing the wife's family to hate him. 

Another famous funny story is Mamat was pranked by Abdur to attend Arie's wedding by wearing a shirt and futsal shoes, causing Mamat mad and then take off his clothes in the middle of the wedding procession. Abdur then force him to wear his shirt back and ended up fighting when Arie was doing Ijab Kabul (Moslem wedding vows).

In some podcasts, they explain if it was the way they're commonly joking from their region and they're not offended otherwise having fun with it. The jokes were supposed to be off camera but accidentally in one podcast, it was leaked, it went viral, and their fans were influenced to do the same thing. Although netizens understand it's just a joke, at some point either Mamat, Abdur, or Arie went mad and fought each other cuz the effect of it, but always ended up fine and keep supporting each other.

What is Tobrut Means in Indonesia?

Basically "anjay, anjir, and anjim" was a derivate word from "anjing" itself, which in English means "dog". in Indonesia, it was a common swear word that comes from a big urban area.
