Indonesian Behavior Changing Someone's Nicknames

In Indonesia, there was a weird behavior, mostly among teenagers, where they often changed someone's nickname call, by giving an easier name, fun name, childish name, an anagram to describe the person, or even it doesn't have any meaning at all.

This behavior comes from Indonesians who often call someone by the last syllable of their nickname,

For example

Slamet will be called 'Pak Met' means 'Mr. Met'

Sugi will be called 'Pak Gi' means 'Mr. Gi'

Diyah will be called 'Bu Yah' means 'Mrs. Yah' Etc.

For example the most famous easier nickname:

A girl named 'Salsa' is oftenly called 'Caca' from 'Sa-sa'

Natasha will be called 'Acha' from 'Asha'

Rosa will be called 'Ocha' from 'Osa'

Putri will be called 'Puput' from 'Pu-Put'

Enzy will be called 'Jiji' from 'Zy-Zy'

Khofifah will be called 'Cho-cho' from 'kho-kho'

Lyodra called 'Lili', Tyara called 'Titi', and Ziva called 'Zizi'

And some examples of a boy named Rifqi/Rizky will be called 'Kiki' or 'Iki'

Sebastian will be called 'Babas'

Mawan will be called 'Wawan'

Joseph will be called 'Ocep' from 'Osep'

Dimas will be called 'Didim'

Indra will be called 'I'in' Etc.

Some nicknames that are famously used to describe someone :

'Bothes' which means baldie same as 'Pelor' which is a rounded bullet

'Bendot' means goat, sometimes used to call someone that sells goat or looks like a goat (having a chin beard)

'Gopel' which means chunk/hole, sometimes to called someone who has a tooth cavity/body hole

'Tompel' that means skin mole spot

Someone who looks old in their teenage will be called 'Om' means uncle, 'Ayah' means Daddy, or even 'Mbah' means gramps. Sometimes they will be called by their father/gramp name.

Some nicknames by their anagram

Muhammad Rizqan will called 'Muris/Maurice' from 'Mu-Riz'

Muhammad Miftahul will called 'Mimif' or just 'Mif'

Mohammad Arif will called 'Marif'

Angelina Josephine will be called 'Asep' etc.

Or anagram nickname that means something

'Sengsu' which is 'Eseng Suket' means 'sauteed leaf' sometimes to call someone who loves eating veggies or has a funny experience in eating grass.

'Piteng' which is 'Piyak tengah' means 'middle part haircut'

'Cepmek' which is 'cepak mekar' means 'Cropped haircut'

'Babe' which means 'baek betul' means 'really nice', sometimes to call a boy who's having good attitude but ugly looking.

Even a nickname that weirdly doesn't have any meaning

A boy named Zaniar Wahyu was called 'Nyambek'

Rayhan Dimas was called 'Sajun'

Anenta Diadin was called 'Tahu'

A girl Named Nayliyatil was called 'Mintil'

Usually, these kinds of nicknames were different and uniquely had by a specific person, not a common nickname, and not everyone had it. So mostly a person will have genuine specifically some friends who have a weird name like that, which makes everyone have a different nickname experience. Those nicknames usually will stay until they grow up, or it will change until they have a job, new friends, new social environment, or new life experience that can be used to call a nickname that suits them or just back to their normal nickname.
